EVALUATIONS
Let's Talk provides comprehensive speech-language evaluations assessing areas including:
|
Feedback with testing results and recommendations will be provided immediately upon completion of the evaluation and a full diagnostic written report will be provided within several weeks following the evaluation.
We also provide free screenings, which are approximately 15-20 minutes in length. Upon completion of the screening, the clinician will determine whether or not a comprehensive evaluation is warranted. Suggestions for home activities may also be provided. |
THERAPY SERVICES
Our 1:1 speech and language therapy sessions are 30-45 minutes in length. Our goal at Let's Talk is to provide high quality services and support for each client based upon their unique needs. As a small practice, we are able to give each client the attention that they deserve and build strong connections that are integral in the therapy process. Clinicians develop functional and effective treatment plans with goals for each client to achieve during their time at our Practice. Implementation of these treatment plans incorporates the most up-to-date and appropriate therapy techniques. Therapy is guided by evidence-based practice (EBP), which is "the integration of: (a) clinical expertise/expert opinion, (b) external scientific evidence, and (c) client/patient/caregiver perspectives" (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; www.asha.org). At Let's Talk we make continuing education a priority, and our clinicians consistently go above and beyond to further their specialized knowledge in the field. Clinicians meet on a weekly basis to go over cases, receive feedback from supervisors, and collaborate. It is a true team effort and you will come to know many of the familiar faces in the office, besides your own clinician!
With our pediatric clients we believe that it is important to address each child's goals using a play-based, child-led, and family-centered approach. We have experience working with children who have speech and language difficulties related to Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Autism Spectrum Disorders, Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD), Down Syndrome, ADD/ADHD, fluency disorders, developmental delays, and learning disabilities. We also work with children who use both low and high-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods. Parents/guardians are consulted at the end of each therapy session and are provided with activities to promote carry-over in the home setting. Consultation with teachers and therapists in the school and Early Intervention setting may also be provided upon request, to ensure consistency in service delivery between providers.
